We believe in One GOD
The Deity has, from eternity, been one, never three. GOD manifested Himself in the Old Testament as the invisible Father, and in the New Testament in the visible Son. The misunderstanding of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as three gods is contrary to the scriptures in the word of GOD; instead, from Genesis to Revelation, we consistently find that there is only one GOD. The following scripture affirms that there is one GOD and that there is no one with Him or beside Him.
Deuteronomy 6:4 (KJV)
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is One LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.’’
Jesus Christ mentioned the same verse in Mark 12:29-30 (KJV).
Nehemiah 9:6 (KJV)
“Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.”
Deuteronomy 4:39 (KJV)
“Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.”
Isaiah 43:10-11 (KJV)
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”
Isaiah 44:6 (KJV)
“Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
1 Timothy 1:15-17 (KJV)
“Now unto the King eternal, Immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 6:15-16 (KJV)
“Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.”
Colossians 1:14-16 (KJV)
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature, for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all things were created by him, and for him:”
Titus 2:13 (KJV)
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
Jude 1:25 (KJV)
“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
Revelation 1:8 (KJV)
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:17-18 (KJV)
“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Then, if GOD is one, how should we understand the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost?
God, being one, known to us as the Father, has a Son (who manifested Himself in His Son), and as the Holy Spirit. This is not an indication that GOD is three. Let us carefully examine the following scriptures, which explain the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father
God the Father is the Only True, Faithful, and Almighty God. He has created the earth, the heavens, and all living things in them. He is God alone without any helper.
Malachi 2:10 (KJV)
“Have we not all one Father? Hath not one God created us?”
1 Corinthians 8:4-7 (KJV)
“…there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him…”
Ephesians 4:6 (KJV)
“…One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
Additional scriptures John 4:24, Jeremiah 23:23-25, John 1:18, Deuteronomy 4:12-19.
The Son of God
The Son is the word of God miraculously made flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary. The word emanates from the Father by which all things were created. The Father Himself exists from eternity both as Word and Spirit. When the fullness of time came, He made His Word flesh and dwelt among us.
John 1:1-3 (KJV)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.”
Psalms 33:6 (KJV) “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made...”. The Bible teaches us that the word was made flesh and that God was manifest in the flesh. John 1:14 (KJV) “And the Word was made flesh...”. The word is not, never was, and will never be another God but “God was manifest in the flesh” 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV).
GOD is Holy and needed to come to this world in His own nature to present an acceptable sacrifice for redemption from sin. For the Bible teaches that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. By His word, He created the world, and in the last days, by making his word flesh and calling Him His Son, He spoke to us by the same word. The Son is not another God but the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person.
Hebrews 1:2-3 (KJV)
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person…’’
Hebrews 10:5-10 (KJV)
“... but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure… By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
The Bible not only states that the Word was made flesh, but also that the invisible God is manifested and dwells in it. It is an inseparable union of Deity and the Word made flesh. God dwelt in the flesh and reconciled the world unto himself. The son is none other than the invisible God manifested in the flesh.
1 Timothy 3:16(KJV)
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh...”
Colossians 1:15-21(KJV)
“Who is the image of the invisible God… For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself.”
Colossians 2:8-9 (KJV)
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”
One of His disciples asked Jesus to show him the Father and said that was sufficient to them, on John 14:9-11 (KJV) and Jesus answered, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works”.
When revealing the Father, Jesus did not point to another God existing in heaven. Instead, Jesus proclaimed that the Father is manifested and dwells in him. Jesus revealed himself as the express image of God’s person, where all fullness of God dwells. Many of the current religious denominations erroneously teach three separate persons as the Trinity and oppose the Bible truth that Christ is the express image of the Person of God.
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is not another GOD, but rather GOD the Father in HIS life-giving work. It is the life-giving breath of the one True God. The Holy Spirit is inseparable from His essence. God fills us with the Holy Spirit to give us strength and to sanctify us. John 20:22 (KJV) “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” This scripture affirms the Holy Spirit is the breath of Jesus that comes out from Him.”
The spirit is the breath of the Almighty, which is life-giving.
Job 33:4 (KJV)
“The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Isaiah 42:5(KJV)
“Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein.”
Job 32:8 (KJV)
“There is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.”
This verse indicates that the spirit of GOD gives understanding and dwells in man, but not a third god.
In different parts of the Bible, the Holy Spirit is expressed as oil, wind, water, fire, and a dove. These expressions should not be understood literally to mean that the Holy Spirit is water, a dove, fire, etc. This does not mean that the Spirit permanently takes the shape of any of these symbols; this shows the Spirit of GOD in operation. God is the source of life. He pours out HIS Spirit, and it will continue to work in us.
We believe in the Salvation
The Lord JESUS CHRIST came to this world to save sinners.
Luke 19:10 (KJV)
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Salvation is only through LORD JESUS; there is no other way we can be saved.
Romans 3:23 (KJV) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
According to this scripture, we are sinners and need to be saved. The wages of sin are eternal death. Romans 6:23 (KJV) To be saved from eternal death, we all need salvation.
What do we have to do to be saved:- we have to believe in the only true God, repent of all our sins, and be baptized in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 2:38, John 3:3, 5). We will truly be saved if we obey the word of God. On the contrary to the scripture, some believe that if you accept the Lord as the only savior and raise your hand, you will be saved.
We believe in the Repentance
Repentance is the essential component of returning from a sinful nature towards GOD when it is done with all heart and soul. Repentance cannot result in GOD's forgiveness of all our sins unless we are converted from our old, sinful ways. God not only forgives sins, but he will not remember them again. True repentance leads to life and salvation. To affirm the aforementioned statement, the following scriptures are evidence from the holy book.
Isaiah 43:25 (KJV)
“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”
Ezekiel 18:21-23 (KJV)
“But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”
Proverbs 28:13 (KJV)
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Acts 3:19 (KJV)
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;”
We believe in receiving and infilling of the gift of the Holy Ghost
We believe in the One true GOD, Baptism in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and in the infilling of the Holy Spirit to be saved. The Holy Word of God attests that to see the Kingdom of God or to enter into the Kingdom of GOD, we have to be born of water and the Spirit.
John 3:3 (KJV)
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5 (KJV)
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
The Holy Ghost is a gift for anyone thirsty.
John 7:37-39 (KJV)
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 3:34 (KJV)
“For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.”
God gives the Holy Spirit without measure.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The early church operations started with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
To speak the word of God boldly, the apostles were filled with the Spirit of GOD. This time also, we cannot do a successful ministry without the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:31 (KJV)
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
Finally, it is unambiguously clear that we must know GOD before we believe in HIM. We humbly invite you to know the only true God, so that you may be saved and inherit eternal life to be with Jesus, the only true GOD in the earth and in heaven.
